Easy pass for me. Looks like a pair of 'booty shorts' a young teenage girl would buy (or rather her parents would buy) from the Pink store at Victoria's Secret! Definitely a print you would sleep in rather than exercise in! Just my opinion, of course!
Bad. Not only do they look like a pre-pubescent boy's underwear, but they're not even original or unique. You could probably find something similar at Target.
Yuk- look like kiddie sheets from walmart or like store!!!! That black w/ the colored dots???? they've been smokin somethin in the design studio- or taking work home and letting their kids pick the patterns/designs? I've seen alot of crap comming out of there lately? i think they've got a serious need of talented designers- what is going on? wow i'm shocked by this!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
That's great you get a pair of Speed Shorts (cool, given the higher price of registration for this race)...unfortunately I do not find them appealing. Look like pajama shorts OR, gasp, a pair of men's boxers.
p.s. make sure you test run them several times before the race and never try anything new on race day.
Why couldn't they have made a beautiful wee stripe/multi stripe version out of the colours? or just a beautiful solid colour with a Sea Wheeze logo or some sassy statement?
They are sweet, but look a bit like pajama shorts. If they were made of two way stretch swift, I think they'd have some structure and look a lot better. I agree that a colored edge would improve them, too.
I really, really want the red and turquoise shorts that were pictured quite a while back with the lime and white stripe CRB!!
Yuck! I agree with all the previous comments -- pajama botoms, men's boxers, bed sheets, kid's stuff from Target. I am 43 and would feel kinda dumb in these shorts!
I love polka dots and colour so quite like them! However, I do need to slim my thighs some more if I am going to wear these for running :) Honestly, I would have preferred a swiftly racerback but at least we aren't men cause they are getting short shorts too!
I think they are cute, but too short for what I like. They do look young, though. Then again, I see a lot of older ladies wearing very youthful lulu pieces at my gym.
Agree they have more of an "I'm running in my undies" than athletic shorts look. I recall the lulu fb page posting another pic of SeaWheeze shorts that were orange with blue trim a while back. I thought those were really cute.
I think they're super cute but understand they're not for everyone. The red stripey one they posted a while back I think was more universally wearable.
Hoping some pop up on ebay as I'm half a world away so there was no way I was going to make it to Sea Wheeze.
Those are perfect shorts for a woman approaching fifty. Especially if her thighs are starting to show signs of age (strange things happen to the skin there, when we run). I, and a number of my friends are coming, we're all 45 - 65 years old - this is not something a single one of us will wear. I am the boldest of the group, and do wear the "normal" speed short, which is a little longer, and way less flimsy looking than this crap. If this is why the registration fee is $140, I have a finger to show them. I think I'll be selling mine, and sending a letter to the company. I won't be sucked in, again.
Deirdre, Thank you for your post. I am the 43 year old that posted earlier. I have that "thigh skin" thing, too. I am 5'4" 118lbs. I have not been able to understand why the skin on the back of my thighs looked so awful when I do squats or kicks during kickbox. Because of this, I always wear crops and will wear a skirt on occasion but only in the TALL version for extra coverage. Thanks to your post, I will quit beating myself up about it. I have been feeling like I'm not exercising enough or eating clean enough. If it's an age issue, then there is not going to be much I can do about it.
Seems like all LL patterns are love/hate and about 50/50... I love blurred bossum, beachy floral and the polka dots. I hated all wee are from space and stripes. To each her own
Very disapointed in Lulu, its ugly, not very stylish or original, and will be on ebay as soon as I get it. What were you guys thinking, simple with a splash of the seawheez colors would of been nice, mext year you better have a classic Lulu like design, or lower the registration price and let us have the option to purchase your special clothing item.
I think they are kinda cute! Maybe not my favorite but still cute and I have several tops that will coordinate beautifully!! I'm looking forward to receiving mine...finally, since I signed up the day registration opened :)I need to start training again! see you in Vancouver!!
Aww, I think they are pretty cute and I'm excited to get them. I'm glad they are a fun color/pattern and don't have black liners underneath. Thinking they will pair well with some of the tanks I already own.
@Anonymous about the thighs: glad I could help. It's definitely an age thing - when it hits you would be determined by genetics, but most women my age seem to have it. I don't worry about it a whole lot. You sound superfit, so you really shouldn't beat yourself up. It's just another stage of human development. :)
My heart stopped there for a second but I remember the last holiday we got one....... Or willwe???? Ahhhh that could ruin my day! Tomorrow already looks like a bad day......
I went to their website just now...and maybe it's just me...but none of the pictures are loading...so maybe that indicates they are doing website maintenance/uploading???? i can only hope.
These look like the "nakedseam" speed shorts. Based on some of the reviews on the site, they chafe so much they make your thighs bleed. Good one, lulu -.-
I've been looking for an August run and was thinking of signing up for the Sea Wheeze, but after seeing those shorts, I think not! They should've gone for something a little more universal that everybody could wear...I know I sure couldn't wear those shorts so there's no way I'm paying $128C to get a pair as much as I like some of Lululemon's stuff! Like somebody else said, something simple that had the Sea Wheeze logo or a sassy statement/mantra. Those orange & blue trim speed shorts posted earlier with the logo would've been great. Guess I'll have to settle for a trail run closer to home.
Yucko! These are about as white as my legs and they are really thin. The farthest I'll be running in these is from the office to the bedroom. Very disappointing.
just saw a photo of the men's sea wheeze shorts...SO MUCH CUTER. they're turquoise with a multi-colored plaid (i think they made women's speed shorts in the same plaid 2 or 3 years ago). why didn't they make the men's and women's shorts to match?!?! the men totally got the good end of the deal.
If anyone wants to get rid of their 6's or 8's, let me know! I think these are adorable... I love the multi polka dots.
... I seriously adore these. I am so sad that so many of you don't like them at all! :( oh well, if we all loved the same things, the world would be monotononous.
Hi there, I have a pair of the men's shorts in a size M, tags still attached etc....if anyone is interested, please feel free to email me at aelewis@dal.ca! Ali :)

They look like shorts for a pre-teen or cute pajama boxers for an adult.
Nope. Not so much. They look like pajama bottoms. Too bad!

They totally say pajamas to me!
Ha! Love it, we've got a consensus going on here! Hopefully this isn't one of the new June prints, ick!

Looks cheap.
i want them anyways.... i wish they had colored trim though.
anyone wanna sell me their size 8? lol
I'd take em too! What's the back look like. Anyone want to sell their size 4
They definitely look like "free" with registration shorts.
Yup, pajama bottom from VS Pink line or Abercrombie. Sorry they gave you this LLA. Not liking it at all. :(
Just added the back photo. I think black edging would help them a lot.
So, do we think these spots are Dazzling, Porcealine, and Wild Lime? Or are they new colors indicative of June product?
yes--look like they are from Target
Luluaddict - did you get your's in the mail?
I think they are addorable!!! I want a pair!

I love em! I'd love a little more whimsy in my workout gear!
Love!
I think they are adorable! I just hope I can actually run in them. I wish they had a longer inseam.
I like them, and I am also wondering if the dots are the new colors we have been hearing about!
Huh, I'm glad I sized up when I registered!
THe more i stare at them, the more i think that maybe hte dots are based on the current color palette.
Omg I love them too
They look like clown chonies. Like they had material left over from an event and decided to whip them into shorts. Not a fan.
I agree with LLA, black trim would have helped their cause immensely!

Will see lots of these on ebay before and after the race...
Left over material from Ivivva...that print was out in hoodies, tees, and the like two years ago. My daughter has a hoodie to match (she's 8!)!
That blue looks like surge to me. I would be excited for a true green, though!
Meeeeeee too

Meh.

OMG BLOOMERS!!!
Okay I know they don't actually look like bloomers but that was the first thing that I thought...
Do we get any type of upload this evening? Or are we just left to contemplate these dotty little shorts?
I think they are kinda cute! Maybe not my favorite but still cute and I have several tops that will coordinate beautifully!! I'm looking forward to receiving mine...finally, since I signed up the day registration opened :)I need to start training again! see you in Vancouver!!
@Focus I'm still hoping for the heathered menthol Power Y. One can always hope, right? :)
based on the lack of uploads today on facebook and on the blogs, I'm worried tomorrow's upload will be lackluster
Aww, I think they are pretty cute and I'm excited to get them. I'm glad they are a fun color/pattern and don't have black liners underneath. Thinking they will pair well with some of the tanks I already own.
THese are sooo adorable and cute!!!
I'm thinking tonight/tomorrow upload will be small, boring, uneventful since it was a holiday today. But who knows, maybe it will catch me off guard.

Maybe we won't get an upload. Today is a holiday.

Same here!
@ anon 12: 48 pm - I did not get mine in the mail yet. This photo came from someone else.
@ famousinfayetteville - I thought that at first, too, but then I realized the dots are the Sea Wheeze colors - lime, orangey red, and surge-ish blue.
@ anon 9:47 pm - The website is hosed up for me. It's been that way for at least an hour or two.
I wonder if all those little dots are going to bleed?
heheh... that'd be funny. All the runners have little bleeding dots on thier shorts at Lulus race. They sure would look silly then
I would never wear them. Ugly.
These look like the "nakedseam" speed shorts. Based on some of the reviews on the site, they chafe so much they make your thighs bleed. Good one, lulu -.-

I will be selling my size 4 if anyone is interested, let me know how I can contact you...
Definitely pajamas-very disappointed with the color and length. Pretty pricey for what we're getting-I will try to sell mine.
@ Anon 2:37, I'm a size 4 and might be interested, email me at: devilotsd at gmail dot com.
Not too impressed unfortunately. Size 4 here if anyone is interested: sachow@telus.net.
I just got mine and LOVE them! Come on guys...have a little fun! They're cute :) I wore them to run the first day they came..AWESOME!
I am also looking to sell my size 4 of this short. I can't rock a speed short and am no longer doing the race. Let me know how I can contact you.
I'm looking to buy size 4, but unfortunately, can't afford a "fair" price. Only if you're willing to sell for quite a bit less than the $54 USD tag.
Please contact me at hemerye@yahoo.fr and let me know what a "fair" price would be. I am selling a size 4 and the package hasn't been opened.
If anyone wants to get rid of their 6's or 8's, let me know! I think these are adorable... I love the multi polka dots.
